Fill in genres and years. Fast.
MP3s onlyMissing track info? MLT Tags & Cues suggests genre and year from its database so your library is easy to search and makes it easy to know where your tracks are.
Available for Mac & Windows
Intro edits only. The file name must include "intro" (e.g. Artist – Title (Intro Clean).mp3). Why? Intro tracks are built in a similar way, so reliable auto cue placement is possible. Full songs vary too much for that today. We plan to explore auto cues for non-intro tracks in a future update. Genre and year work on all your MP3s.
What you get
MLT Suggestions for year and genre
The suggestions are already in MLT so you don't have to go out to the internet—much faster. Hover over a track to see the suggested data or bulk apply to all the tracks.
Scan the internet or use Shazam
You can also scan the internet for the data. Shazam is supported too.
Auto cue points on intro edits
Three Serato cues (start / half / drop on the intro)—for files whose name includes "intro". Intro edits share a similar structure, so auto placement works; other track types aren't supported yet but we're looking at them for later updates. Rename the file if needed.
How it works
- Update year and genre using MLT Suggestions—data is already in MLT so you don't have to go to the internet (much faster)
- Hover over a track to see suggested data, or bulk apply to all tracks
- You can also scan the internet for the data, including Shazam
- Cue points: intro edits only (filename contains intro)—intros are structurally similar. Non-intro auto cues may come in a future update
Available for Mac & Windows
Some data may come back wrong. Using the Report data feature, MLT researches each online source and shows you what each source returned. You can also report to MLT and we will update it in the background, so the next time you or another user scans that track, it will show the correct year.
Cue points: auto cues only on intro-named MP3s—intro tracks are similar enough for reliable placement. Genre/year still work on all MP3s. Auto cues for other track types are something we hope to add in a later update.
