"I've been using Years & Genres for a year now, and it's a total game changer. As a DJ, it's frustrating not being able to search by decade or genre in Serato—but this app fixed that by accurately analyzing and tagging my entire library. It’s a lifesaver, and other DJs are always impressed with how organized my Serato is now. 10/10!"

Your Serato library shouldn't feel overwhelming. MLT Years and Genres scans your tracks and updates each one with the correct genre and year — so all your House is in one place, all your R&B is in one place, and organising finally makes sense.
Manually tagging thousands of MP3s is painful. This app does the hard part for you — scanning your library, matching your tracks, and updating the metadata. Hit a button, walk away, come back to a cleaner library.
When your genre tags are clean, your entire library becomes easier to navigate. That means less stress, faster prep, and more time doing what you love — finding dope tracks and playing great sets.
What file types does this work with?
MLT works best with MP3 files right now. Other formats like WAVs aren’t supported (yet).
Can I just scan a few tracks instead of my whole library?
Absolutely. You can drag and drop individual tracks or folders onto the app if you only want to fix specific files.
Will this mess up my cue points, loops, or crates in Serato?
Nope. MLT only updates metadata like Genre and Year. It doesn’t touch your cue points, loops, BPM, play counts, or crate structure.
Does it work with Smart Crates?
Yep — if your Smart Crates contain MP3s, the app will scan and update them just like regular crates. Super useful if your Smart Crates rely on genres or years.
Do I need to do anything inside Serato after using the app?
Yes — after scanning your library, just go into Serato, click Files, then hit Rescan ID3 Tags. That updates the genre and year data inside Serato.
Do I need to back up my library first?
It’s not required, but it’s smart. If you’re worried, copy your library folder to an external drive before running the scan. That way, you’ve got peace of mind.
What if some tracks come back with “No Genre”?
It happens — usually because the track isn’t found online, the artist/title spelling is off, or the track is super underground. The good news? MLT’s database is improving daily. Try scanning again in a day or two and it might get picked up.
What’s the refund policy?
Simple: if you’re not happy, you get your money back. You’ve got 30 days to try it out risk-free — no hard feelings, no questions asked.
Why do some tracks show the year as “0000”?
If a track’s release year can’t be found, MLT sets the year to 0000 as a placeholder. That way, you’ll know which tracks are missing info and can filter or fix them later if needed.
Is this a one-time payment?
Yep. One-time, no subscriptions, no hidden fees.
